The world is constantly changing and technology is one of the fastest growing industries out there, it’s really no wonder why. We rely on technology for almost everything in our daily lives. The gas pumps that read our debit cards, the car we drive has a computer in it — we simply cannot get away from technology. So, many things depend on computers and other technology to work properly and we need technicians who are able to fix and maintain our technological systems. Other technology industries can be grouped under this title, but include VOIP fields, E-commerce and online auction sites, technology technicians, web developers and other jobs like these.
Another industry that is growing at a rapid rate is known as Biotechnology. Ray Kurzweil describes the industry as having the potential to explode within the next few years. Biotechnology uses biological processes to develop or make products or technological solutions to problems. Again, we see the use of technology in this field as well.
The mining industry is booming as of late as well. With oil prices sky rocketing more companies are trying to find alternate fuel types, leading to mining of ethanol, and other gases from the Earth. Mining as always been a big industry in certain parts of the world but as things change we are seeing an increase in the mining jobs.
The robotics industry is on the rise and could become the largest industry in the next decade. Think about all the things we have switched from manual labor to robotic labor. Most companies use machines to perform tasks that humans once fulfilled. We now have little robotic vacuum cleaners for our homes and automatic car washes for our vehicles. It’s no wonder the industry is taking off, while this is great if you think about the advancements of things it can be harmful to the job market because with all the robotics performing the jobs humans once did it leaves the humans unemployed, and that helps no one.
